CHECK BACK FOR THE SINGLE
Olivia Trace is a singer/songwriter from Berks County, Pennsylvania, and lives with her family on her father’s farm. She has been singing from a very young age and begun learning how to play the guitar in the 7th grade. When she was in high school, an English professor intrigued Olivia with their word play. Olivia thinking in her head about how unique one could make words be, even the simplest of the bunch. With this on her mind, she began to write poetry, using it to express different emotions that she was going through. Eventually this idea turned from writing poetry, into writing full of songs for Olivia to play and sing. A turn for worse landed Olivia in rehab, where she spent a lot of time by herself, with only her guitar and a journal she was given to write in. Not having much to do, she began writing songs while she was in recovery. Late at night, when it was time for everyone to go to sleep, Olivia would be awake, staring up at the ceiling. She would think to herself about how she got herself into this situation, and maybe that if things went differently, she would be back home with her family, being able to spend as much time with them as she could. Following the rehab center’s routine would always be so mind- numbing to her. She was grateful for the free time, where she could eventually be on her own and focus on the one thing that brought her solace, her music. But one day, while Olivia was playing her guitar in the common area, many other tenants became intrigued by her guitar playing. Eventually, a larger crowd had formed to listen to her play. Olivia did not take notice into this, being fully consumed by the song from which she was singing and playing with so much emotion that it started to have an effect on the other tenants, bringing tears to every single one of their eyes. Once she was done, she finally realized that she had an audience in front of her, crying and cheering for the music that she played so beautifully. One by one, they all came up to her to thank her for playing such alluring music. Most even started asking her if she was able to turn their writings into songs. Olivia was then approached by a familiar face, a girl named Kiko, who told Olivia that she could probably make this into a career. Olivia who hadn’t thought about the idea as much, now seems to have finally found her true calling, accepted this, and sought out to make this her life goal. For the rest of her time at the center, Olivia wrote songs as much as she could, and soon after she had left the center, had written an entire album’s worth of music. Now out and recovering, Olivia seeks to pursue her music career using her inspirations like Karen Dalton, and Elliot Smith. With the strength and support of all of those around her and the loving support of her family, Olivia was able to start her career as a musician.
