CHECK BACK FOR THE NEW MUSIC SOON
Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado but raised in Berwick, Pennsylvania, Tiarra is a force to be reckoned with. From singing in her living room at the age of eight, to having pretend concerts of her own in her room at a young age (and even now), and to participating in karaoke throughout her middle school years, she realized her passion for music and would continue to sing for years. Once she entered high school, she would pursue art and not even think about considering music as a career path until later in her life. While growing up in a small urban town helped her develop into the person she is today and shaped her in ways she is grateful for, she knew she needed to leave in order to reach her full potential.
For Tiarra’s first year of college, she attended the University of San Francisco in California. Initially an art major, switched to dance and then back to art, she was content with the way her college path was going so far (even if she wasn’t happy with her major). But once winter rolled around and the semester was in full swing, things took a turn for the worse. While the feelings she was experiencing weren’t new, they were much stronger than they had ever been. After a visit to on campus counseling, and a psychiatry referral she was (unsurprisingly) diagnosed with Bipolar II.
Tiarra then started making changes to better herself and her mental wellbeing. She finalized plans to transfer closer to home for the next fall semester and applied to Albright. While she wasn’t happy knowing she’d be back in Berwick, she knew it would be for the best. When Tiarra returned home for spring break in March, COVID was in full swing and ultimately cut her spring semester short. This put a hold on her track to make her mental health better, and she turned to music for comfort. She’d spend hours on hours every day just singing and listening to music, finding even more solace than she already had in her favorite band, 5 Seconds of Summer. Not only is 5SOS her favorite band, but they also sparked a fire in her to finally pursue music seriously.
5SOS is noted as one of her biggest influences and inspirations, along with Machine Gun Kelly and Lynn Gunn (PVRIS), and she hopes that she can provide the same comfort to her future fans that they did for her. She wants to embrace the parts of her that aren’t mentioned in this biography, as well as the parts of her that are still undiscovered, and wants to incorporate that into her music. She wants to be completely transparent and honest about who she is, what she’s gone through, and all the things she is and isn’t proud of.
